Invalids of peace
Music theatre show with songs and monologues by Giorgio Gaber and Sandro Luporini. A journey through their sharpest and most critical repertoire of contemporary human nature.
90 minutes
The "well-being" of our society is a strange cotton wool. If once it was soft, now it seems frayed, torn. Through it echo distant rumblings, sinister noises that make us open one eye in the dark only to turn the other way. We rely on a carefree indolence: we dance with the orchestra playing on deck while the ship sinks.
Invalids of peace is our new music theatre show with songs and monologues by Giorgio Gaber and Sandro Luporini. A journey through the part of their repertoire most cutting and critical of contemporary human nature, featuring pieces like 1981, Il cancro, Il mercato and Mi fa male il mondo. Not a homage or a tribute, but a theatrical adaptation tout court, much like one does with Shakespeare.
The central theme is the deterioration that our slice of a rich and tired world is undergoing, from all points of view: cultural, social, political, moral, human. A new form of invalidity of thought in a society that could have everything, tragicomic and unsettling.
